Eric + Ariel | Brockton, MA October Wedding
The story told by the Bride:
LOVE STORY: “Essentially High School sweethearts, we met over 9 years ago and have been almost inseparable ever since. We were friends for a bit before we started dating and still remain the best of friends. We’ve gone through many adventures together and know we will go on many more. We’ve gone to numerous shows , food festivals, several concerts, practiced Krav Maga together, went on a bucket-list trip to Florida, and, in 2016, we purchased our own home.
PROPOSAL: I am originally from Buffalo New York and every so often we would travel up to see my grandmother up there. Every time we would see her, within minutes of walking through the door, she would ask us “hey when you getting married you know I’m pretty old, I’m 93, I don’t have much time left when are you guys getting married”. Every time, without fail, one of the first things she would ask. “Hi, how are you? When are you getting married”
I was over at my parents for my mom’s birthday and we called up my grandmother on the phone to talk to her and she did what she does, “Hi, how are you? When are you getting married?” and so I went home and I told Eric I spoke to my grandmother she wants to know when we’re getting married, we’ve joked about how she would ask Every time without missing a beat. He turned to me and said “is that something you want to do? “And I said “Ready when you are” and I turned around and he was gone so I looked around turn around to look for him and when I looked back he was there again and there was a small bag on the counter. In the bag I found a small handwritten love note that ended with will you marry me? And I looked in the bag and I saw a ring box and I looked back at him and was like speechless (obviously said yes after a moment) and here we are. I don’t think that I can express how very smooth the whole thing was Eric was very smooth. He was originally planning on proposing in 2 days and that would have been our anniversary but he saw the opportunity and he went for it. I have the note framed on my desk I thought it was perfect for us the way that he proposed.
